Our project is structured around two compelling components that span millennia:

City Memory Mosaic: Stories of the Present

We engage with the humanity of the present by capturing vital oral histories from our communities. Through interviews, we record the personal memories, city changes, and life lessons of our elders. This component demonstrates the immediate importance of preserving individual narratives, connecting us directly to the living history around us.

The Dunhuang Element: Stories from the Past

We look to visual history through the lens of art history, focusing on the remarkable art of the Dunhuang Mogao Caves. These ancient murals and sculptures in China are powerful examples of storytelling through visual art. They provide a rich historical narrative, illustrating how faith, culture, and daily life were recorded thousands of years ago.

NAVIGATING NARRATIVES shows that whether etched on a cave wall in the Gobi desert or recounted in a living room, narratives are the true inheritance of our past. Join us as we navigate these stories and uncover the universal human experience they share.
